This page explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the GDPR. If anything is unclear, email us at outdoorpeda@gmail.com.
Who we are
Forest Camp Chamonix runs outdoor children’s camps in the Chamonix valley and is the data controller for the information collected through this site.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run a camp safely and reply to you:
- Enquiry and contact forms: your name, email, message, and your phone number if you choose to give it.
- Newsletter: your email address, so we can tell you when new camps open.
- Chat assistant: the email you enter before your first question, plus the questions you ask and the replies we give.
- Booking and payment: handled by Bookwhen. Your contact details, your child’s details and your card payment are entered on Bookwhen, not stored on this site.
- Child information form (after booking): your child’s name and date of birth, dietary requirements and allergies, medical notes, an emergency contact, insurance details and any document you upload, and whether you consent to photos.
How we use it
To run your child’s camp safely, take and manage bookings, answer your questions, and send the newsletter if you have asked for it. We never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the services we need to run the camp, and each one receives only what it needs:
- Bookwhen takes your booking and card payment.
- Airtable stores newsletter sign-ups, chat logs and the child information form.
- Vercel hosts the website and stores any insurance document you upload.
- Anthropic powers the chat assistant; your messages are sent to generate a reply.
- Supabase stores contact and private-booking messages so the team can reply, and Resend sends the email alert to our inbox.
Cookies & on-device storage
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We use a little on-device storage to make a few features work, and Bookwhen sets its own cookies when you go to pay.

If we add website analytics in future, we’ll use a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool (such as Plausible) and update this page first.
How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as we need it, then delete it. Insurance documents are kept until their expiry date and then deleted. Registration and child-information details (the booking and child-info form) are kept for one year, then deleted. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. To ask us to delete your data sooner, email outdoorpeda@gmail.com.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, or object to how we use it. Email outdoorpeda@gmail.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
